Yes. Your safety is our first priority. We use single-use needles and sterilised equipment, and we follow the Western Australian health regulations for skin penetration procedures. Before your appointment you will fill in a consent form, which helps us check that a tattoo is right for you on the day.

Yes, a little, but most people find it very manageable. How it feels depends on the person and the placement. Areas with more padding, like the outer arm or thigh, are usually easier than bony areas like the ribs, spine or ankles. Your artist will talk you through it and you can take breaks.

Absolutely. Bring photos, sketches or anything that shows what you like. Every tattoo at Primitive Tattoo is drawn custom for you, whether you know exactly what you want or only have a rough idea.

It depends on the size, detail and placement, and larger pieces may need more than one session. You will get a clear quote from your artist at your free consultation before anything is booked.

Yes, a deposit is needed to book your appointment and it comes off the final price of your tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to change your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice and we can move your deposit to the new date.

You must be 18 or over to get tattooed at Primitive Tattoo, and you will need to bring valid photo ID, such as a driver licence or passport, to your appointment.

In most cases, yes. Our artists regularly rework and cover up old or faded tattoos. We will always be honest about what is possible and talk through your options at a free consultation.

Keep it clean, wash it gently with mild soap and water, apply a thin layer of the aftercare balm your artist recommends, and avoid swimming, sun exposure and scratching while it heals, usually for around two to four weeks. Your artist will give you full aftercare instructions on the day.
